The Labrecque Matrimonial Route

Seeing the many generations brought together in the posts about the Labrecque and Aubé matrimonial routes gives me the feeling of having all of us reunited together across time and space. Some cultures celebrate the feast of the dead, where the spirits of the dead are welcomed back by the living who spend time with the deceased in the present. In these posts, I feel something similar is happening: my ancestors become present on the screen, almost alive, through the listing of their names, dates of marriage, and images of the places where the ceremonies took place.

The church images below show the buildings as they are today; many have been reconstructed since the time of the weddings, though usually at the same location.
