These are my paternal grandparents, Albert Aubé and Eva Labrecque Aubé, pretty much as they looked when I was a young child. Every couple of years, my father, Lucien, and mother, Dolores, would herd my three siblings and me into the car in Cleveland, Ohio, and take us for a family visit to Lewiston, Maine, where my grandparents lived.
Growing up, all I knew about my grandparents’ background was that they had immigrated to the United States from Canada, and that earlier ancestors had arrived in North America from France. Over the past several years, I’ve been gathering stories, images and documents about my ancestors’ lives, going all the way back to the people who left France. In this blog, I’ll share what I’ve found.
I hope you’ll come along as I explore the generations through blog posts to Family Lines.
